Brain Bulletin 119 - Enjoy the "Carryover Effect"

in Brain Bulletin

The "Carryover Effect" is one of the most important things I have ever learned.

"Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you." ~ Oprah
Ask yourself what makes you come alive.
Each of us is wired with at least one special talent.
It might be a hobby, a sport, writing, music, art, acting, gardening, and so on ...... the list is endless.

Once you've identified it, run with it. Often & hard.
It will make your brain happy. And, a happy brain is a focused brain.

We feel we fit into this special talent. This boost in self-expression and esteem cannot be contained. It spills over into many areas of life.
We become better at a lot of other things. This is the "Carryover Effect". And it's powerful!

These days, with everything that's going on, it's so easy to live our fears rather than our dreams.
Don't let the "tyranny of the urgent" crowd out the important.

Suggestion: Look at the week ahead, and schedule 30 minutes every day to do the thing that makes you come alive.
( This may mean less 'news' and social media. And that's OK.)

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain

Here's a bit more on maintaining a happy, resilient brain:
